Columbia Green got its start in 1984 as a nonprofit that “stimulates and promotes knowledge and appreciation of gardening, horticulture, and conservation.” We still believe in the power of community education and generating an appreciation for nature. Now, we take an active role in mobilizing community efforts to preserve our natural environment through urban forestry, green space, and gardening initiatives. With the help of our sponsors, nonprofit partners, and almost 2,000 Columbia Green members, we are making the Midlands a greener, healthier, more liveable environment for all citizens!

Columbia Green Community Partners

Partnership is inherent to our ability to fund and expand the green infrastructure and natural landscape we believe in. Thank you to all those who contribute money to fund our work; those who provide benefits to our members; and all those who keep the wheels on this bus. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

Columbia Green Strategic Plan

To accomplish a vision, we need to set goals. We have a strategic plan that outlines the major goals, milestones, and actions to grow our organization, deepen our impact, and strengthen our community. We encourage you to take a glance at our 2024 Strategic Plan and our 2025 Annual Report to see a more in depth look at what we’re up to!
