Urban Heat Island Mapping

In August 2022, a team of volunteers worked together to measure temperatures throughout the city and county to map our urban heat islands, in an effort funded by NOAA/NIHHIS. The grant application was submitted by the Columbia Tree and Appearance Commission with financial support from Richland County Conservation Commission and Columbia Green.
